Good location, very close to Clapham South tube station
Unhelpful staff, mouldy bathroom, uncomfortable bed
Convenient location for our specific trip. Ease of check in. Given key code for flexible entry.
Very central and close to tube buses and taxis. My son now lives in Claphan Common which is close to the Hotel we would definitely stay at the gateway hotel again
Hotel very noisy from passing traffic no noise inside hotel (but I live in the country.
The proprietor was very welcoming and the room was comfortable.
You can't beat the location to the tube. Grocery stores and restaurants are also convenient as well as Clapham Common a great place for a picnic. The room was clean and a good place to crash after a long busy day in London. Perfect for the price.
If you must use the internet while staying at the hotel it is not the place for you. We stayed 6 days straight, did some traveling then returned for 2 more days and the internet connection was spotty at best and usually non existent while we were there. We had a lower level room so I can't speak for the upstairs but our shower was not separated from the sink area at all and from toilet area by a thin rubber strip. Needless to say the entire bathroom floor was soaked after a shower. Nothing horrible but bothersome.
The tube location, only a short walk from the hotel. The large size of the room. Internet connection. Breakfast served to the room, good value 'Continental' breakfast.
The street noise, by emergency vehicles at night, from a front room of the hotel. Use ear plugs if staying in a front room of the hotel overlooking traffic lights.
The hotel was clean and very conveniently located to the tube station. There is a bus stop outside the door. The suburb has a range of shops, supermarkets and pubs. We would definitely stay there again.
Room looked onto Balham High Road - noisy traffic and emergency vehicle sirens
Close to transport
Smelly room, no security, pathetic lighting, tiny bathroom, no fresh air.
Need to know that the check in closes at 9.00 pm
There wasn't a real shower box, so water spread on the floor.
perfect as a base to visit family. everything clean and functional. good tv and tea/coffee making facilities. will be using again. location first class - tube station within few minutes' walk.
Close to tube for central london and plenty of pubs /food within walking distance. Hotel easy to find from tube station (bout 1/4 mile).
The staff were very nice and very helpful. We arrived late due to traffic at 10:30pm and they waited for us. They provided us with a baby cot for free and we were allowed to park in their private car park for free. Thanks again.
Quiet neighbourhood, nice and safe area. Our room, a twin, was more than decent. The staff was nice and friendly. The hotel is located 100m away from Clapham South's tube station, in about 20 minutes you can easily reach the town with the northern line. A budget hotel, cheap if compared with London's average prices.
The staff didn't change our towels everyday. The free wi-fi was working only from time to time.
